Homemade pasta (locally pronounced ”pašta”), especially famous ”Krčke šurlice”, ”Makaruni” (Macaroni), just like seafood dishes, prosciutto/dry pork ham and cheese, has become one of the most authentic trademarks of the island of Krk.
”Šurlice” have distinctive appearance (dough is formed around knitting needles – macaroni-like twists) and they are made of flour, water, eggs, salt and olive oil. They are a great example of ingenuity and manual dexterity of Krk hostess. This simple dish – pasta goes well with many other dishes and today, thanks to ”šurlice”, we can enjoy in the flavours of dishes such as ”šurlice” with Shrimps, with beef stew, asparagus, octopus and ”šurlice” with various gravies.
”Makaruni” are also sort of hamemade pasta and as well as ”šurlice” and they become almost indispensable part of Sunday dinners, weddings.
We are particularly proud that all pasta (dishes) on our menu is prepared in our restaurant.
